Look what I’ve got! More black and white knit!
I made a quick mercy dash ( listen to me, it’s only fabric!) into the shop during the week. A quick look around left my hopes dashed. I had but minutes to spare but one of the Fabworks ladies came to my rescue.ย
She took my fabric photo into the warehouse and 5 minutes later appeared with the last bolt of the knit in question!
Of course being left idle in a fabric shop for 5 minutes was lethal and I spotted and bought this rather bold stretch lace/flocked coated scuba!
ย It’s crying out for a bodycon dress if I’ve got the nerve to make one. I’ve seen this as my inspiration. I might need to get the Spanx out!
It’s from the Beaute J’adore blog. This lady makes the most truly remarkable clothes.
This is the pattern it’s based on.

So it seems I’ve added to my stash the week before I’m returning to Dewsbury for our Yorkshire Spooletes meet up!
Right, back to the Coco. Let’s get those sleeves cut out.
Love, Lucie xx
Great news Lucie! I don’t know what you mean by ‘only fabric’ ๐
That is a great bodycon dress and will look stunning in the scuba/black lace fabric – probably a little over the top for a day in the office though, have you got an evening ‘do’ in mind for it?

Nothing in particular. I don’t need that sort of pressure! It was probably a bit of the spur of the moment/mad purchase so I shall just use it as a foray into something new.

‘It’s only fabric’? Nope, don’t understand what that means ๐ So pleased you found some ๐

So glad you were able to get more of the fabric you need and can’t wait to see the other made into a dress ๐ x

I might have set the bar rather high with my rash purchase but all part of the learning curve!!

Fab end to the story! And of course you can wear bodycon, I actually find fitted stuff with a lot of stretch a lot more flattering than loose stuff, go for it!

I know what you mean. Most of my evening RTW is stretch ponte.

Oh lovely! Seeing your post just reminded me I have that lace coated scuba somewhere in my stash๐. You would look amazing in that dress.

I think when I bought it was to make a contrast yoke Coco.

That’s a bit like telling the men after their football team lose – “it’s just a game”! You’ll look fab in a body con dress, you’ve certainly got the figure for it and that lacy fabric will be perfect. So pleased for you that you could get extra for the sleeves, too.

Sleeves are in, just the hem to finish!

Yay! Glad they had some left for you! They are a helpful bunch. You should’ve told them you was a Yorkshire Spoolette – they’re looking forward to us going! You’ll look fab in your new fabric too, it’s good to have a frock in hand for an unexpected do, you never know what’s around the corner! ๐

I wasn’t sure if they would know us so I went ‘incognito!’

Lovely choices! Would love to make a spoolettes meet up soon. Think I saw you at the Stitches show but was sadly occupied in a meeting so couldn’t say hello

Yes, was me! I could see you were busy. I just popped by to say hello before I left. It was a great show. You must try and make our next meet up!
