I’m taking part in the Itch to Stitch Birthday Blog Tour next week. I was asked by the lovely Kennis if I would be interested in making up one of her patterns as part of the Blog Tour.
There are 25 of us posting over 7 days starting this Thursday.
I wanted to keep it simple so have chosen the Kathryn top to make. It comes as both a dress and a top.
As usual it’s last minute but I have at least cut out the pattern and bought my material. Yes, bought.
I came across this amazing online retailer from Hong Kong, Modes4U
It’s not cheap but the variety is fabulous and it didn’t take me long to fill my basket (oops!) with enough fabric to qualify for free postage!

In close up we have (this is from the web site as my fabric has photographed grey!)

then this dotty

and finally this wintry

My Kathryn will be made out of the blue. I have a small toddler hoodie in mind for the bear. My spots will wait for another day.
The fun starts this Friday the 8th and I’m due to post on Monday October the 12th, so look out for it.
There will be a link to several giveaways.
Love, Lucie xx

Pretty top. Looks tricky. Interesting fabrics but that grey firework dots does funny things to my eyes! Look forward to seeing how it turns out.

I love the pleats on the top. How do you order material on line and know what you are getting? I am rubbish at it. I have ordered 2 jersey knits and they couldn’t be more different!

The only reason I was confident in my jersey choice was I’d read this post https://rememberinggravity.wordpress.com/2015/09/17/a-heffalump-linden/comment-page-1/#comment-169
and googled the fabric! So can’t claim any special powers!

I was thinking more along the lines of being confident and knowledgable!

It’s my first try at an Itch to Stitch pattern but loved how you could just print off the pattern size you wanted.
Would you happened to know where I could buy cuff ribbing in a shop around here?

Fabworks had some last time I went, can’t remember what colours.

I love the bear fabric especially – I can imagine a pair of cosy pull-ons made from that but that would take a lot of fabric so a toddler’s hoodie would be my next choice 😉

I’ve found a pattern for the hoodie, see here http://www.titchythreads.com/patterns/rowan-tee
I was hoping to find one without toggles etc so I’m pleased with this. Not a bad price either.

Itch to Stitch sounds like fun and I look forward to visiting everyone to see all the makes. I love the pattern you have chosen here, so simple. Are you making the top or the dress I wonder?

Definitely the top. You wouldn’t get me in a dress in this weather!

Blimey, I love ALL those fabrics, especially the bear knit. Bet you had real trouble whittling it down to those three. I shall follow the collaboration with interest:)
