Recently I was thrilled with the news that one of my old school friends had welcomed into the world baby Bethany.
Now I’m sure Sian is far too busy to have ever read my blog so I think I’m safe to show you the progress on my latest amigurumi, Bethany’s bunny.
She looks pretty grim, headless, but there will be a head, arms and ears.
The nose is a safety nose – critical in makes for very young persons.
An amigurumi tip I picked up recently was to attach limbs before stuffing the body, whenever possible. This prevents said limbs detaching themselves in the future after a bout of tough play.
Ultimately this will be my reward. A finished bunny.
I originally discovered this bunny on Pinterest. It took a whole lot of tracking down.
The pink bunny above is from the blog Amber’s Creatives a blog from the Netherlands. This led me to the blog of the designer Hip Haakwerk and from there to purchasing the pattern at the Haakpatroon online shop . Except that the bunny pattern wasn’t available in English.
This one was though.
I’ve just had to improvise with the ears. And if I so wish, I can crochet an angel at Christmas.
It is so nice not to be knitting cabled fingerless gloves.
Love, Lucie xx
Awwww 🙂 love the shade of pink. And baby has the best name 🙂

I find it easier than knitting but have heard that knitters don’t take to it easily or at least without some perseverance!

This is so cute and well done for making those ears, they look a perfect shape. Tell me to mind my own business but wondered if you’d come across this tutorial http://needlenoodles.com/home/?q=node/139

No, not at all but I think you might be referring to the finished bunny? That one is not mine, just the one I found on Pinterest. I’m hoping to finish my ears tonight, I have that tutorial already pinned on my pinterest board. I’ve found it very useful with all my stripy amigurumi.

Lovely Bunny, I love the way it stands, have you used beans in the feet or are they just stuffed really firmly? I like the tutorial for stripe changing to so thanks for sharing that little gem. I always use method 1 for changing colours and it works really well.

No, I’ve not weighted the feet. It just seems well balanced – and has huge feet!
