Another Melilot

I love this pattern. The Melilot by Deer and Doe

This is my third and is a double win in that it’s a pattern I already own (obviously!) and also made up from a metre left over from a previous make, a Cheyenne Tunic.

So that makes it free, right??

These are my previous 2 Melilots.

The first is in a fairly open weave crinkle gauze and the second a crepe de chine. They were both made up in a size 38 ( exactly in accordance with my 34.5 inch bust) but the second, the one made from the more stable fabric is slightly more restrictive.

So for my latest version I sized up to a size 40. It is perfect.

This one has a straight hem, cut at the length of the pattern front. I didn’t feel this one needed a pocket.

This Atelier Brunette Viscose Chalis fabric is so lovely to wear although to be honest the black colour way of my Cheyenne has faded a little with washing.

As the weather changes from summer to autumn to summer to winter and everything in between, there’s plenty of time to get plenty of use from my new Melilot.

But I’ll make up the long sleeve one with the full collar next.

Love, Lucie xx

  1. This looks great. Well done. I wish I had the patience to keep using a pattern to get the fit right! It’s worth it! Love your fabric choices. These tops look so “up market”.

    1. Thank you very much. The increase in size is minimal but make all the difference and I like to get value for money out of the pattern because it all adds up, doesn’t it?? 🙂
