Frida Blouse by Atelier Jupe

Meet my new crush, the Frida Blouse by Atelier Jupe.

I have seen so many of these on Instagram and Youtube. With my love of a good blouse, it was only a matter of time before I made one up.

Frida is a romantic blouse with a French touch. It has a gathered front, button placket, elegant collar and three-quarter sleeves with a small inverted pleat. The back also has an inverted pleat.

Atelier Jupe is a Belgium Based pattern company offering patterns matching their fabric collections.

I treated myself to a paper copy of the pattern and was surprised to find the pattern pieces overlaying each other, meaning I needed to trace them out, something I had not done in quite a while. But I imagine it goes with their ethos of sustainability, keeping costs down and minimising waste.

The booklet covers several languages and the instructions were perfectly clear, with diagrams to help.

I did also watch ‘Beyond the Pink Door’s’ sew-a-along for this too as I wanted to see how she had incorporated a lined front yoke to keep everything super neat inside, and not just the lined back yoke that was in the pattern.

I had spent quite a lot on this beautiful fabric Meet MILK Saba Sheer Tencel , from Minerva, so I wanted to make something that was well finished and long lasting.

The colour is called ‘bright white’ which it definitely is not, it’s more of an antique white. In fact when the fabric arrived I was less than enamoured with it. However, now I’ve completely changed my mind!

To lift it a little and show off the lovely sweep of the front yoke I included some old gold piping I had left over from my Suun Top, from Atelier Brunette I think.

The neckline is not something to be rushed. It goes in just perfectly if you take your time, remember to stay stitch etc.

I really love this fabric now, this blouse feels elevated because of it. It’s a little sheer but not when worn. I just want to buy it in every colour now!

I really like the sleeve pleat and cuff. Super quick to do and a nice change from a usual cuff or elastic.

I made the size 38 (UK size 10) which was is slightly above my bust measurement. It fits like a glove.

I just love it.

Love, Lucie xx
