Tomorrow is the first day of advent but I’ve yet to get my fabric Advent Calendar out from the loft and fill it with yet to be bought chocolate.
However I have an excuse. Last week the OH and I spent a really needed break away from it all in the resort of Costa Adeje in Tenerife.
Weeks of work, house in a mess with decorating, loss of sewing mojo and general lethargy had taken its toll and a week away came just at the right time.
So now we are back and thoroughly shocked that Christmas seems to be upon us!
Luckily I had a door wreath workshop to attend, run by the talented Jo, a friend I had known since we’d all had our babies (along time ago)
and attended by some lovely friends, also connected by those first baby coffee mornings, a good 14 years ago.
These are the wreaths after their first layer of moss and spruce. We were very pleased with them, even at this point!
And there was mulled wine and cake! – Made by Jo’s husband!
It was a lovely couple of hours but look what we made!
Can you see the horse shoe? Jo’s husband is a farrier.
I’ve not put mine up yet. I thought I’d wait until at least December, and maybe when Storm Clodagh is past.
Felling quite Christmassy now.
Love Lucie xx
Your Christmas wreath looks great – very festive.

beautiful wreath! There was some wreath-making in our basement this weekend, but I managed to not go down there until it was time for the judging. 🙂 The whole basement smelled heavenly with all the greenery. 🙂

Gorgeous wreath Lucie. My wreath making this year has been limited to a free motion embroidered one.

They look fab. I used to go out with a farrier – a smelly boyfriend as I recall!! ask the other Jo XXX

Well he had very clean hands and had made the most perfect sponge cake!

Brilliant! There’s nothing quite like a real wreath hanging on the front door, is there? I’m doing some Christmas Craft Workshops for kids and the planning for these have made me feel all Christmassy, too. I must get the advent calendar down from the loft as well – is it really 1st December tomorrow??!

Well, if I say so myself, my wreath is better than anything I could have bought around here!

That looks like a really fun workshop to attend. Was it a bit nippy? You all look as if you’re well wrapped up against the cold.
