Because you can never have too many Bretton tops

This is the Joli Lab Malo Top

It’s a French pattern, but the instructions are in both French and English.

It’s definitely a pattern that lends itself to a striped fabric, especially with the shoulder pieces.

There is a sweater length and tunic length option with 3/4 length sleeves with a cuff or full length sleeves.

I went with the sweater length and lengthened the 3/4 length sleeves to full length sleeves but also incorporated the cuffs and the suggested buttons on the cuffs.

I thought the examples of this top showed them to be quite slender, I was in between sizes so I went up, for the size 40.

It is perfect across the shoulders but I took the sides in from the arm pit to the hem from 0cm at the underarm to 2cm at the base on both sides. I would lengthen it by an inch next time.

This delicious feeling french terry is the sort of thing you want to put on after you strip off after work or when you are in need of a warm hug on a cold morning.

Its from Minerva here but sadly out of stock

This has become my go to downtime top at the moment. It’s lovely.
Love, Lucie xx

  1. This is a fabulous pattern. Really smart! I had to take apart my machine. Fed up with the thumping noise. Changed the needle. It’s a little better but it doesn’t like the pull over top knitted material. I’ll finish it but may have to bin it in the end! 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 Sent from my iPhone
