Love, love, love this!!

This is the Closet Core Elodie wrap dress; another dress for my holiday.

The Elodie has a softly flowing bodice, with release pleats under the bust and a dolman style sleeve.

There’s also pleats in the back bodice. The skirt is swishy and voluminous and comes in three lengths. I made the midi length. I’m 5 ft3.
I made a size 10 but graded to a 12 at the waist and back in to a 10 at the hip.

I was pushed for time, so I didn’t bother with a toile and my linen like fabric was very cheap, from the bins at Abakhan. It was in 2x 2.5m pieces and I just loved it.
It fits like a glove and is so comfortable to wear.

The pleats give it more form, providing room for the bust without gapping.
You’ll notice I didn’t bother with pattern matching! The print was far too big to bother.

I left it hanging on my mannequin for a few days and the side seams in the skirt did indeed drop by a couple of inches, so well worth the wait.
The instructions were a joy to follow.
The perfect wrap dress.

Love, Lucie xx
Very elegant but looks comfy too, and I love the fabric!

Thank you so much. It turned out even better than I’d hoped. I’ve been wanting to use this fabric for a while.

I’ve been intrigued by this dress pattern for a while. Reading and viewing your inspiring post today convinces me to give it a try, especially since we’re the same height. Your beautiful dress is very flattering on you and you nailed the perfect length for your frame. It seems like the scale of the fabric print also works well without overwhelming your proportions.
Love everything about it.
Thanks also for the hanging before hemming tip, always a wise idea.

Thank you!! I was surprised by the extra details , the pleats etc, once I started it. I can see why it’s popular. I’m wondering about a version for winter parties as it’s so comfortable but I’ll need to nail the fabric.

Ooh you look lovely Lucie and it fits you like a dream. I always avoid wrap dresses as they always need a press stud to avoid gaping but the pleats on this one look to have solved that problem.
Thank you for sharing and hope you have a wonderful holiday x

Thank you! I usually include a press stud which I don’t mind tbh. But this one doesn’t need one on me.
