Hot off my needles; my latest pair of socks.
A fairly utilitarian pair.
But required for those occasions when my others are just not appropriate.
You can see that I’ve not strayed far from the basic pattern. No fancy stitches here!
But I find my socks as useful journey companions without the need to carry instructions and also great for those times when only mindless knitting will do.
I’ve come to love my Addi short circular needles; switching back to the double pointed needles for the heel.
My fit is improving, sock on sock, all learnt from my particular sock bible.
Having knitted them over the last 7 months, I’ve not yet worn any of them. But I’m sure a change in the weather is just around the corner.
Have a lovely weekend. Mine will mostly be spent cutting back and pulling things out of the garden.
Love, Lucie xx
I love the purple ones! I am not very good at knitting but I always find myself getting tempted when I see the amazing things people make!

Thanks! I’ve only been knitting around a year. I like socks because they are completed relatively quickly for little outlay!

Be prepared for your first pair to take ages and not fit very well!!

Socks are SO on my list of skills to acquire. I have several pairs that have been made for me and I love them. 2015 may have to be The Year I Learn To Knit Socks!

My technique has improved a lot from my first pair. It was a bit trial and error to begin with. There seemed to be too many needles and the mini circulars gave me cramp to begin with!

All of you socks are lovely. I’ve only knitted two pairs of socks so far and they are waiting to emerge from the drawer for the winter. They feel so much nicer than bought socks 🙂

Thank you. I can see improvements in all of them but I think I have the basic pattern cracked now.
My husband thinks I’m mad, knitting socks!

Once you start wearing handknit socks you won’t want to wear anything else! The grey/blue ribbed ones are very classy.

I love seeing them in my sock drawer but I’m a little nervous about how they will wear. Time will tell I suppose!
