I came across a post on fellow blogger Hannah Ackroyd today on my reader. She is taking part in ‘not your average crochet’s’ CAL (Crochet Along – I had to look it up – duh!).
Basically, inspired by this beautiful blanket,

Hannah (another Hannah – I know it’s confusing), of ‘not your average crochet’ will post the instructions for the next 4 to 6 rows each week to grow the blanket between now and Christmas!
I like the idea of having another project on the go, and one which you are able spend a couple of hours an evening a week without the guilt of not working on it all the time, (does that sound a bit odd?). The other thing I like is that the stitches and colours change all the time so repetitive boredom doesn’t set in on something quite so large.
I’m a couple of weeks behind.
So far Hannah has posted this for week 1

And this for week 2

I ordered my yarn today which should arrive tomorrow. Can’t wait to get started!

I just started the CAL and have only finished the first four rows. I like the blanket. Hannah is doing a great job with her tutorial.
Hope to be seeing yours soon. My update will be posted in a couple of days.

I just started this CAL this week too, looking good so far. I am doing it for my Mum to give to a charity, she gave me the yarn as she was having a sort out in her craft room so I figured it would be good to turn these oddments into something useful for someone. looking forward to seeing your blanket when your yarn comes.

Wow you are fast! Not at all odd to have several projects on the go (unless I am odd too!). I shall look forward to seeing it grow. 🙂
