A Summer Stacker

It’ll come as no surprise to regular readers that I like to repeat my favourite patterns. I love to try out a pattern with 2 or 3 completely different fabrics, resulting in a new garment that is unrecognisable from the first.

This is my Summer Stacker Jacket by Papercut Patterns.

I’ve worn my previous Stacker most days to the office since my return 6 weeks ago.

This deadstock fabric, a textured woven jacquard in turquoise, was provided for free in lieu of a blog post for Minerva. It reminds me of a Coco Chanel type of jacket fabric but in polyester. It washed, sewed and pressed beautifully.

The Stacker is a jacket with a cropped boxy fit with a choice of flapped in-seam pockets or oversized patch pockets. It is fully lined and features a drop shoulder and a classic collar.

I was in between sizes in the bust but again sized down. A size 3 as opposed to a size 4.

Again, I’ve not touched the jacket length from the pattern pieces. I like the boxy fit.

I bought the lovely square blue buttons from Minerva

It is fully lined. The instructions are pretty good but you’d need a bit of experience, I think, to completely grasp every step.

I’ve used this Lady McElroy Mercedes viscose twill lining from Minerva in sage. I matches beautifully with the main fabric.

I think it’ll look equally as good with my jeans.

It’s my new favourite.
