Welcome Ada

We have another new member to our family! Another set of cousins have just welcomed their third child, Ada. A lovely name, don’t you think? Vintage but contemporary. Needless to say, I took advantage of the Bank Holiday weather (rain) and ran up a few bits and pieces for the new arrival. It was a great opportunity to use some of the fabric received as part of Sewsewnice’s fat quarters club. They are all backed by micro fleece. I put them together in exactly the same way as ones I had made previously for an old work coleague. You can find the details here. I also made a couple of these very useful ‘wet bags’.They measure 9” square and are for baby’s changing baby to put in wet clothes or dirty reuseable nappies, lotions etc. They are lined with waterproof PUL fabric. PUL is a polyester/polyurethane laminated knit fabric. It is waterproof, durable and has a slight crossgrain stretch. It is generally used in making nappies, changing mattress covers and other applications that require waterproof breathable fabric. It is quite an amazing fabric. It feels like very thin wet suit material. It is machine washable up to 60 degrees and can go in a low heat dryer. It comes in a massive range of colours and prints. These are all now parceled up to commence their journey in the post to the south coast.
