Hats for smoothies!

Posted by

I’ve done my bit.
6 hats for smoothies for Age UK.
I’m almost loath to part with them, they look so cute.
I’ve been wondering what I could adorn with these mini hats around the house; apart from boiled eggs!
My daughter made the pom poms.

  1. They are very gorgeous:) It’s such a clever, and fun campaign to raise awareness re the brand and about being warm in winter – in Norwich UK 18 people died of excess cold last year – really shocking

    1. I love the idea, the money raised and the general awareness increased. It is good to see a company like Coca Cola (who own Innocent) support a UK cause but I hope it is more than a mere drop in the ocean for them.

  2. Love your hats they are so cute 🙂 I have been knitting some myself and I plan on carry on knitting them as they have confirmed they are doing a Big Knit 2014 🙂 What size were your pom poms though? As I have really struggled to make mine small enough

    1. The pom poms are about 1.5 to 2cm across. We made them by wrapping the yarn around 2 fingers and then tying a piece of yarn around the middle, in between your 2 fingers. Pull the yarn off your fingers, then tie the yarn tighter. Then cut through the loops and trim to size. It was a 2 person job to tie the yarn tight enough for the Pom Pom not to fall apart.

      1. thank you so much 🙂 I was trying the traditional way by making pom pom templates out of cardboard and what I thought was small was still too big but I shall give this a go 🙂
