CAL week 6 and some raised beds

Busy, busy, busy this week. But I did manage to complete CAL week 6 of the enormous blanket.

CAL Week 6
CAL Week 6

Half an hour of my time, each evening this week, has been taken up with watering this lot. I have been putting the water from last weekend’s paddling pool to good use!

Long may this gorgeous weather continue.

As an aside; Peter and I are off to book our wedding venue tomorrow! Set for next May; after 10 years I’ve waited long enough!!!

  1. Oooh congratulations! *little squeal* that’s lovely – and I hope you will be wearing a handmade wedding dress and making absolutely everything you possibly can 😉
Love the colours you’ve chosen for the CAL – it’s really pretty. I like the tone of the yellow – a bit less shouty than the colours I’ve got!
And the garden is impressive! I’m not a gardener but I am so proud of my courgette, you never know, I may turn in to one!

    1. I have a few ideas for a few bits and pieces but the dress will definitely bought from a shop!!!
I’m looking forward to finally setting the date after he popped the question last November. We’re looking at may next year.
I’d like to take credit for my choice of colours for the CAL but I bought a prepicked selection pack so I knew everything would go together. 😉 If I had had to choose I would still be deciding with no blanket made at all!
      Enjoy your courgettes!

  2. love the blanket – great colors. And the gardens! WOw. My raised beds are good, but not that good. You must be getting sun. today is our first “normal” day in weeks – not raining, not humid, not hot. Whew, I thought these beautiful days were gone for good!

    1. We’ve been blessed with hot sun for about 2 weeks now which is unheard of in the UK in recent years. But I agree everything is looking well in the garden at the moment.

    1. Thanks. This is our 4th year of growing veg. I’ve learnt what grows well and what not to bother with. This is probably the best it looks before it starts looking dishevelled again!

  3. Hi Lucie… I was wondering if you could tell me the brand name of the yarn you chose for your enormous CAL blanket and also the specific colours. I love the colours! Thanks so much.

    1. Hello there. Glad you love my colours! I cannot take full responsibility as I bought the lot as a mixed colour lot that I liked the look of. I would never have able to pick out all the colours in a shop. It is a Stylecraft Special DK Colour Pack. I got it from deramores online shop. I have saved back the aster colour to use as my border and decided not to use the lipstick and plum and turquoise as I thought them dark but may put in a narrow line of each to use them up. I’ll need to reorder soon but now know which colours I use most of so will not need to by the full pack. Hope that helps. Lucie x
